MY THOUGHTS:

Out of all the books I have read in the Quilts of Love series, Swept Away is definitely my favorite. The characters are well developed and I fell in love with Sari, otherwise known as Grandma. She is the grandmother of Sara Jane, the heroine. and I guarantee you she will rope your heart and pull you into her story and her plans for her granddaughter and Andrew, her handyman.

One thing I found interesting in this book is they introduce the reader to the Ballad Quilt. It is a quilt made based on a song ballad. Quite interesting. One day I would love to see one of these quilts.

On a 5-Star Scale - 5 BIG Stars!!!!! I loved this book.

Swept Away by Mary Connealy - a review

I just became a big fan of Mary Connealy.  I have to admit I have several of her books sitting in my 'to be read' pile but until now I haven't had the pleasure of reading her lyrical prose.

When the opportunity came to read and review Ms. Connealy's newest creation I jumped at the chance and I am ecstatically happy that I did.  Swept Away is Ms. Connealy's first book in her Trouble in Texas series.  I can tell you this much, I will be reading book two, Fired Up as soon as it hits the shelves.

Swept Away is the story of Ruthy MacNeil and Luke Stone, two people on a mission meeting by accident.  Ruthy's parents died when she was very young and the family that took her in did it for selfish reasons.  While on a wagon train Ruthy was dreaming of ways of getting away from them and the good Lord provided a flash flood that stole the lives of her "adoptive" family but spared her life.

Luke Stone (swoon) is the handsome cowboy that found Ruthy floating in the river.  He didn't have time to take her to the nearest town as he had a mission of his own.  After the Civil War, he learned that his Pa had been murdered and their ranch that his Pa sent him the deed to, was stolen by Flint Greer.  He had one thing on his mind and that was to get Flint Greer off his ranch and make him pay for killing his pa.

Along the way, romance blossoms between Ruthy and Luke and they find themselves working together to recover the Stone ranch and save... well, you'll have to read the book to find out anymore.  You all know I hate to hand out spoilers.

If I had to say anything negative about the book it would be Luke's nickname for Ruthy had me confused at times.  You see he called her Rosie, much to her distaste, and there is one section in the book where it switches from his POV to her POV and well, I got all twisted up between Ruthy and Rosie and who's POV it was, but other than that this was an excellent read.

I would highly recommend Swept Away to any and all readers who enjoy good clean romantic fiction.
