I'm taking the plunge into reviewing books!

Well, I have visited blogs for close to a year now and loved reading the reviews on books. Especially when the authors were new to me. I finally signed up to review books with one company and ordered my first book. I would eventually love to sign up with some other publishers but as of right now I'm not sure who gives books out to review other then the company I just recently found (Water Brook Multnomah).

The first book I have selected to review is DEADLY TIES by Vicki Hinze. I am so excited. The book hasn't arrived yet but I'm sure I will love it and hopefully get my review up before the end of February. So I would love to invite you back to check out my review next month and for those of you who have been reviewing for awhile I would love any input or suggestions. Also if you can direct me to any other publishers who offer free books to review I would appreciate that as well.

Smiles & Blessings,

Cindy

Finally Friday!!!

Wow! Seven days of January already gone and yet the week really dragged by for me. First week back after vacation is always a tough one for me. I work hard before I go on vacation to get everything done, only to come back and play 'catch up'. I'm bushed to say the least and I'm really looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow morning. Would love to just curl up with a book tomorrow and read but there's a lot of work to be done a home following vacation too. Once I'm caught up I think I'll need another vacation! :o)

Blessings to you all,

Cindy

Happy New Year!`

It is so redundant to say this but I really can't believe another year has come and gone. I had twelve days off during the holidays, four of which were spent in the car traveling to and from Texas. We had five hours of freezing rain at the start of our trip and seven hours of pouring down rain when we left Texas to come home. At our ages we were exhausted. I must say my 82 (will be 83 on the 15th)year old mother was a real trooper during the trip. She was more concerned in our poodle's comfort than her own. Our dog is well traveled and does really well.

I hope and pray you all had a wonder

ful peaceful and blessed Christmas and a joyous New Year. This year I hope to start blogging more and do some book reviews as well...and who knows maybe I can do a book giveaway along the way. I need to start somewhere!

Blessings to you in this new year!

Would love to review books

I have been visiting blogs throughout the blogsphere and reading wonderful reviews of books that have been supplied by publishers and authors. I would love to start reviewing books but do not know how to get started or who to contact. If anyone can steer me in the right direction I would love it if you would leave me a note of how I can get started or who I need to contact.

Have a blessed day!

I'm Ready to Finish a Wonderful Book...but it's hard to say goodbye.

I don't know what the weather is like where you live, but here in Northeast Indiana it's beginning to look alike like winter. It snow flurried most of the day yesterday and today I don't believe the temperature rose above 41 degrees. I love this time of year but my body isn't ready for it yet. I have been cold for two days straight...just can't seem to warm up.

I am getting ready to curl up under my afghan and finish the last few pages of a wonderful book. If you've read a previous post of mine you will know that I am a fan of Sarah Sundin. I have about 25 pages left to read in A Memory Between Us and I hate to say goodbye to Jack & Ruth. I guess what makes me the saddest is Ms. Sundin's third book in the series won't be out until next fall. :(

If you haven't tried either of her books please pick up a copy of A Distant Melody & A Memory Between Us. You won't be disappointed.

Kindle, Nook or Sony E-Reader

I'm perplexed. I really, really want to get an e-reader. Don't get me wrong I still plan on buying and reading a book with paper and ink on pages...I love the smell of a new book, don't you. I love the smell of a library too. But I would really like to be able to add to my libray by owning an e-reader. But which won should I put on my Christmas wish list?

If you have an e-reader can you share with me which one you have and if you love it or don't love it? Can anyone give me some advice as to which one is the best? I can use all the input I can get. Thank you in advance for your help!

The Anonymous Bride

I am an avid reader. I love reading Chritian Fiction the most. Especially Christian Romantic Suspense and Christian Historicals. I am currently near the end of a very good book, The Anonymous Bride, by Vickie McDonough. An absolute wonderful read I must say. It boils down to lies told, secrets kept and forgiveness given. This is the first book I have read by Ms. McDonough but I must say it definitely will NOT be the last. She has mastered her characters and dialects of the time period. If I were to grade it I would have to give it five stars!
